Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

RIIOGD401D - Rig up, conduct pre-spud operations and rig down

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Plan and prepare rig up, conduct pre-spud operations and rig down

  1. Access, interpret and apply rig up, conduct pre-spud operations and rig down documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
  2. Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
  3. Identify, address and report potential hazards, risks and environmental issues and implement control measures
  4. the work activities
  5. to commencing, during, and on completion of work activities
  6. Carry out pre rig-up procedure inspections (by rig manager, operator and crew)
  7. Coordinate movement of load and sequence of installation and location
